Radiohead plan to spend next summer working on new songs but say the priority will be to have fun rather than fill an album.

Bassist Colin Greenwood said that next year, following a brief tour of Japan and Australia, the group would start working on their next record.

But they’re going to avoid putting any pressure on themselves to deliver an album quickly.

He said: “The plan is try to record for the sake of the songs rather than the sake of an album – no deadline or anything, just having fun.”
