Hip-hop duo OutKast held down the top two spots on the U.S. Hot 100 singles chart for the third week in a row, while Kelis’ “Milkshake” was No. 3 for a second round in the period ended Dec. 21.
Rapper Twista crashed into the top-10 after jumping nine places to No. 9 with “Slow Jamz” featuring Kanye West. The cut is drawn from his Jan. 27 Atlantic release “Kamikaze.” Also new to the top-10 was Beyonce’s “Me, Myself and I,” which surged seven places to No. 10.
The chart’s top debut came from “American Idol” winner Ruben Studdard’s “Sorry 2004,” which opened at No. 58.
At the top, were the Andre 3000-led Grammy nominated record of the year “Hey Ya!” at No. 1 and the Big Boi-fronted “The Way You Move” featuring Sleepy Brown at No. 2.
The Hot 100 is based on radio airplay and retail sales data, as is Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, which was headed by albums chart-topper Alicia Keys’ “You Don’t Know My Name” for a third week.
Kenny Chesney’s “There Goes My Life” topped Billboard’s Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart, also for a third week.
Linkin Park’s “Numb” was No. 1 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart for the seventh week in a row. “Numb” also took control of the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, leapfrogging Puddle Of Mudd’s “Away From Me,” which slipped to No. 2.
The country and rock charts are determined by radio airplay data.
