Morrissey says he doesn’t understand hip-hop and wishes somebody would explain it to him.

The singer was telling French magazine Les Inrockuptibles that he no longer listens to the radio.

He said there were too many songs that forced him to change stations.

“I don’t want to inflict any pain on myself,” claimed Morrissey.

“For instance, hip-hop remains a great mystery to me. I wish that somebody could explain it to me.”

Morrissey celebrated the greatest chart success of his career, this weekend, when his new single, Irish Blood, English Heart, entered the UK singles chart at No 3.
