With a new live album in stores, Sarah McLachlan has confirmed plans to take to the road again in the spring.

The Canadian singer/songwriter will launch a North American arena tour with an April 12-13 stand in Victoria, British Columbia. Dates are currently scheduled through a May 29 show in Atlantic City, N.J., according to the artist’s official website.

McLachlan’s second concert album, “Afterglow Live” debuted this week at No. 107 on The Billboard 200. The set boasts 15 audio tracks captured during a pair of Toronto shows during her tour in support of last year’s studio album of the same name, and a 23-track DVD with performance and behind-the-scenes footage and videos.

Among them is Sophie Muller-directed clip for “World on Fire.” The provocative short features the artist performing, while the cost of the video’s production is compared to that of food, medical, school and housing supplies in impoverished countries. In reality, the video was produced for $15, or the price of a digital videotape. Muller and her production crew donated their services, while the nearly $150,000 video budget was donated to various charities.

Released in November 2003, “Afterglow” debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 2.3 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Although McLachlan has no concerts scheduled through the end of the year, she is confirmed for a trio of television performances. On Dec. 14, she’ll be in New York to appear on the syndicated daytime show “Live With Regis & Kelly,” and then will head to Los Angeles for a Dec. 15 performance on NBC’s “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.” She’ll wrap the TV tour with a Dec. 16 stop at the syndicated “Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
