Nelly Furtado’s “Promiscuous” featuring Timbaland led the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for a fourth week Thursday, while Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” held at No. 2 but replaced Furtado atop the Hot Digital Songs chart.
Cassie’s “Me & U,” Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie” featuring Wyclef, Yung Joc’s “It’s Goin’ Down” and Rihanna’s “Unfaithful” warmed the No. 3-6 spots, respectively, on the Hot 100.
The Pussycat Dolls’ “Buttons” featuring Snoop Dogg climbed five places to No. 7, while Christina Aguilera’s “Ain’t No Other Man” slipped one to No. 8. Lil Jon’s “Snap Yo Fingers” featuring E-40 & Sean Paul Of The YoungBloodZ was also down one, to No. 9, and the Fray’s “Over My Head (Cable Car)” held at No. 10 to round out the top tier.
Ne-Yo’s “Sexy Love” jumped 13 to No. 24, and John Mayer’s “Waiting on the World to Change” was the chart’s top debut at No. 25. The track is the lead single from his upcoming album, “Continuum,” due September 12 via Columbia.
Also new were Lustra’s “Scotty Doesn’t Know” (No. 75), KT Tunstall’s “Suddenly I See” (No. 88), Faith Hill’s “Sunshine and Summertime” (No. 95), Five For Fighting’s “The Riddle” (No. 96), Hinder’s “Lips Of An Angel” (No. 97) and Mario Vazquez’ “Gallery” (No. 99).
Brad Paisley’s “The World” maintained the Hot Country Songs pole position for a second week, while Koji Kondo’s “Super Mario Brothers Theme” fronted the Hot Ringtones chart for an eighth week. Daniel Powter’s “Bad Day” led the Adult Contemporary for a 13th week.
On the Mainstream Rock tally, Three Days Grace’s “Animal I Have Become” ascended one place to No. 1, ending the 13-week run of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Dani California,” which slipped to No. 2. The Chili Peppers track was also dislodged on the Modern Rock chart, falling to No. 2 after 11 weeks, as the Raconteurs’ “Steady, As She Goes” rose one to No. 1.
