Britney Spears courts controversy with her latest video, Everytime, in which she comes back from the dead.

The video, first shown on MTV one day after Easter, shows Britney dying in her bath after cutting her wrist in a fight with her ‘husband’, played by Stephen Dorff.

Britney strips off to get into the bath and discovers she has cut her wrist during the struggle and appears tp drown, despite Dorff diving in to save her.

Originally, the video was to have been a suicide plot but Britney changed her mind. The final shot shows a fully alive Britney re-emerging from the bathtub, with a smile on her face.

“It’s more like a movie,” she explained. “It’s different than anything I’ve ever done. It’s dark, and it shows me in a different light.

“Of course, I’m going to go back and do dance videos, but I wanted to be inspired and challenged.”
