St. Louis-based rapper Chingy is known for his party raps, but now he’s ready to step into the ring for a battle against two rap heavyweights if necessary. MTV.com reports that Chingy has leaked a song, “We Got,” online where he takes aim at Nelly, and the rapper had some choice words for former mentor Ludacris and his Disturbing Tha Peace crew in recent interviews.

Chingy said, “”I’mma run it down like this, ya dig? That record right there, that’s some old material. I done that when this all started. I’m gonna be real about it. I’m tired of these guys – I’m talking about Ludacris and Nelly – I’m tired of these guys taking shots at me in all these interviews and songs [with] subliminal shots. Business is business. I’m the one who sold three million records, and I’m still getting money back that [Disturbing Tha Peace] had in their possession. Ludacris knows what I’m talking about.”

Chingy’s beef with Nelly has been simmering for some time as Nelly felt Chingy didn’t show him the proper respect for putting St. Louis on the map. For his part, Chingy felt that he and Nelly were contemporaries with Nelly simply landing a deal and releasing an album before him. Things hit the fan when Chingy took exception to Nelly’s song, “Another One,” from his Sweat album.

On “We Got,” Chingy raps, “I heard that song, boy; it ain’t another, boy. Better keep my name out your mouth, boy/ … I been discovered, boy; that’s why you hatin’, boy/ … The media hyped you, boy/ KRS crushed you, boy/ … Put up the chains, bars and the platinum teeth, boy/ And bring the drama beef, trouble to the streets, boy/ You started it, boy/ Well, I’mma finish, boy.”

Chingy’s beef with Ludacris and Disturbing Tha Peace began last year when Chingy broke ranks from the collective and accused them of mismanaging his funds.

The rapper said, “I ain’t hiding from it no more. I ain’t with all this foolishness, but if you gonna make songs about me and speaking about me in these interviews, I’m not gonna hide in no shell. At the end of the day, they spitting false talk and this is real talk. I ain’t got nothing too much more to say about those guys. I’m trying to do my thing with my music and my company and keep things moving. I’m done with all that bullcrap. I’mma shut it down right now.”

Chingy is currently promoting his sophomore album, Powerballin. The rapper will release a new single, “Leave With Me” featuring R. Kelly, in the coming weeks.
