Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” sat at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart for a second week Thursday, but it looks as though the latest single from Ciara has designs on making it to the top.

The single from Stefani’s solo debut, “Love, Angel, Music, Baby,” also remained in the pole position of the Hot Digital Songs list for a third week (ended May 1).

But Ciara’s “Oh” featuring Ludacris continued its aggressive ascent, jumping two places to No. 3.

In between the girls was the Game’s “Hate It or Love It” featuring 50 Cent, holding at No. 2 for a second week, while Akon’s “Lonely” was No. 4 for a fourth.

Making a substantial move was 50 Cent’s “Just a Lil Bit,” which shot up nine places to No. 5. The rapper’s “Candy Shop” featuring Olivia, which spent nine weeks at No. 1, fell three places to No. 6.

With a five-place jump to No. 7, “We Belong Together” becomes the 23rd Hot 100 top 10 title of Mariah Carey’s career. As a lead artist, Carey last appeared in the top tier with “Loverboy” in 2001, which peaked at No. 2.

Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone” dropped two places to No. 8. While
Rob Thomas’ “Lonely No More” dipped two to No. 9 on the Hot 100, it took the lead on Billboard’s Adult Top 40 chart with a 2-1 move.

To go along with a No. 3 entry on The Billboard 200 chart with his debut album, “Disturbing Tha Peace Presents Bobby Valentino” the R&B artist added his first Hot 100 top 10 with “Slow Down,” which jumped six places to No. 10.

Dave Matthews Band’s “American Baby” made its Hot 100 bow at No. 19, the highest debut of the week and the group’s career-best position on this chart. The song can be found on DMB’s new album, “Stand Up,” due in stores May 10 from RCA.

In a slow week for debuts, the Foo Fighters’ “Best of You” joined the DMB cut as the only other new visitor on the chart at No. 51. The Dave Grohl-led rock act’s new double album, “In Your Honor,” is due June 14 via RCA.

On Billboard’s rock airplay charts, Green Day’s “Holiday” topped the Modern Rock tally for a second week, while Audioslave’s “Be Yourself” notched a fifth week at No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock list.

Jo Dee Messina’s “My Give a Damn’s Busted” climbed four places to No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, as previous chart-topper Brooks & Dunn’s “It’s Getting Better All the Time” dropped to No. 4.
