Christina Aguilera has branded Britney Spears’ wedding “low-rent and pathetic.”

The 23-year-old star burst out laughing when she was told details of her pop rival’s marriage ceremony.

Britney, 22, married dancer Kevin Federline, 26, in a secret Kabbalah ceremony at the weekend.

Christian described the wedding as “hilarious.”

She added: “I’d never have thought that girl would have done it this way. I know she really loves Kevin, but this is like really low rent this time.

“It’s surprising. The whole affair seems somewhat pathetic.”

There have been claims that the marriage may not be all it seems.

Friends claimed Britney’s mum Lynne stopped the wedding from being completely legal after Britney refused to sign a pre-nup.

A source said: “Britney may find that the priest did not have the authority to conduct weddings. So although they have had the ceremony, it’s in name only to protect her million dollar finances in case it all goes wrong.”
