Courtney Love failed to show for a court hearing on drug charges Wednesday, and a judge issued a bench warrant but put it on hold after getting an explanation from the rocker’s lawyer.

Attorney William Genego told the judge that Love couldn’t make it due to a “security” issue. He did not elaborate but said she was on call to appear as necessary.

The judge agreed to put the warrant on hold until Feb. 17. It was the third postponement of a pretrial hearing concerning felony charges that Love was in illegal possession of two painkillers.

Authorities say they discovered the painkillers when Love was taken to a hospital Oct. 2 after being found outside an ex-boyfriend’s house where she allegedly smashed windows.

Separately, she was charged with a misdemeanor of being under the influence of a drug. That case, being heard in a downtown Los Angeles court, was postponed later in the day to Feb. 23.

Love, lead singer of the group Hole and widow of grunge rocker Kurt Cobain, has a new album, “America’s Sweetheart,” out this month.
